Ashley Wilburn is a native of Hagerstown in Maryland. She graduated from North Hagerstown High School where she completed her secondary education. Ashley Wilburn's law practice is centered around family law. She has a love for it. She focuses her practice on divorce cases, alimony matters, marital property division child custody battles, and child support arrangements. She also deals with post-divorce and enforcement matters such as step-parent adoptions and private party adoptions, as and concerns regarding child welfare. In addition to family law, Ashley also handles estate planning matters, including wills, trusts, probate and estate administration in addition to commercial contract, civil litigation cases. Ashley has been as a mediator appointed by a court since the year helping parties to help them resolve their matters without needing court involvement. In addition to court-appointed mediation, Ashley also mediates in private cases for individuals who wish to avoid the litigation and court process.
Ashley completed her undergraduate studies in History and Politics at Loyola University of Maryland. She continued her legal education at Western New England University School of Law. She graduated in 2013 and was placed among the top 10 students of her class. While in law school, Ashley served as a Note Editor for the esteemed Western New England Law Review which showcased her dedication to legal scholarship and research.
After completing her law degree, Ashley embarked on a clerkship program, working with notable jurists in Connecticut and Maryland. She was fortunate to work as a law assistant for the Honorable Richard A. Robinson at the Connecticut Appellate Court and the Honorable Elliott D. Prescott. In 2014, she returned home to Hagerstown, Maryland, to work as a law clerk for the Honorable M. Kenneth Long, Washington County Circuit Court. In 2015, Ashley joined the esteemed law firm of Poole & Kane, P.A. as an associate attorney. Her main focus was representing the Washington County Department of Social Services in cases involving child welfare. Through her tireless efforts, Ashley played a vital role in helping children who had suffered neglect or abuse at parent or caregivers. Her dedication to fighting social injustice went beyond her legal profession as she served as an active member of the Washington County Human Trafficking Task Force. She was a tireless worker to increase awareness about human trafficking within the tri-state region.
In 2017, she was a founding member of Kane, Wilburn & Stone, P.A., where she developed her practice in the areas of family law such as divorce, child support, custody, and guardianships - as well for estate planning, such as wills, trusts and powers of attorney, advance directives/healthcare proxy - and mediation.
Ashley created Wilburn Law Office, LLC, 2023, with the intention of providing an individual approach to every client's needs.
